All About Squares

Uncategorized

7 Mar

Todays blog post is all about squares. I love making square cards so today I thought I would show you 3 different sized square cards, all of which incorporate more squares in their design. This first card has quite a lot going on. I cut out a white square piece slightly smaller than the card base and them stamped my images. I also used my scoring board to score some lines. I then cut out my 3 squares using the dies from the All Squared Away set and mounted them onto some of the DSP from the Artistically composed suite. The stamps that I used are also from this suite. I then found some twine in my stash that I am pretty sure has retired. I mounted them onto dimensioals and stuck them onto the card and finished it with some in colour gems

Here’s a cloe up of some of the squares

This next car is by far the easiest of the three. I stamped an image from the Blessings of Home bundle and then coloured it in. I then cut the image into equal squares and reassembled it on the card front – very simple and very quick but quite effective too.

This final card definitely took the longest but I am so happy with it! I used the Hand Penned Petals stamp set and stamped the larger image off the sides of the first square mount for the card. I then stamped the second image onto the middle of a smaller mount. I then coloured them in using my blender pens. I cue a piece of pink cardstock and put some retired ribbon on it. I then suck that to the piece I had stamped off the corners. I used my Playful Alphabet dies to cut out the get well soon anf then stamped the sentiment beneath it.

I punched out some tiny butterflies and added them with some diamantes which I coloured with my pens to match.

I didn’t do the best job of cutting the ribbon but I have fixed it now. I love the dimension of this card and how the alphabet spells out the greeting, I often forget I can use them for that.

I hope you like todays selection of cards, any questions please fell free to ask and if you would like to purchase any of the items used today please click on my shop button and I will be happy to help you in any way I can.

I have a plumber in all this week so it’s very noisy in the house – a perfect excuse to disappearr into the craft room…..

Until next time
