This week has all been about challenges. Sometimes you. Can find yourself in a crafty slump but what better to drag you out of them than a challenge and today being the 1st of the month the lovely people on the facebook group SU Colour Challenge have come up with one using 4 colours; cherry cobbler, so saffron, flirty flamingo and very vanilla – 4 colours that I would never had thought to put together.
I opened my craft cupboard and sat down for a think. Of course there’s the obvious ice cream flavours there, or a very nice cake (both things I am craving but the diet says no) so I decided to go with the Artistically Inked bundle as I knew I could use my blending brushes directly onto the stamps to add some more colour.
I initially stamped the flowers in flirty flamingo and then added cherry cobbler and so saffron and blended them in. I cut out the main flower die in very vanilla. I used so saffron again for a layer and ran it through my Stampin Cut and Emboss machine using the stitched greenery die, then to soften it I ran a smaller piece of vellum through using the same die. I cut out another layer in Cherry cobbler and then assembled it onto a flirty flamingo card base.

Here’s a close up of the flowers. This card was a lot of trial and error and there are many pieces of these cardstocks scattered on my desk as I found a way to tie it all together. I don’ think I would ever have created this card if it were not for challenge.
Until next time
