Mother’s Day can be a difficult time for those of us without mothers however I have been asked to make some Mother’s Day cards so I decided to have a play with the Cottage Rose bundle. I stamped the main rose onto vellum and heat embossed it in black. I then coloured it in using my stampin blends. I cut out the image again on white card to back the vellum. I stamped the leaves and cut out some of the dies cuts in soft succulent. I then splattered evening evergreen on the background and added some gold faceted jewels. The sentiment is from. A very old stamp set as I don’t tend to buy Mother’s Day stamps.

Heat embossing onto vellum softens the look of the main flower and using the darker colours meant that the glue did not show through.

I went flying with my daughter Summer on Saturday and we flew over Althrop. We got a really good view of the lake where Princess Diana is buried. She’s got less than 30 hours to build before she can start her commercial pilots course and thankfully she’s still loving every minute. It certainly does make a nice change to go flying when the weather is good.
Until next time
