It’s the little things

I have a lot of grown up nieces, God children etc and I always struggle with what to get them for a gift and they generally ask for money which I’m happy with but it would be nice to be able to put that money in something a little more interesting than an envelope so when I spotted this beautiful die in the mini catalogue I knew exactly what I wanted to make with it.

This one I kept simple and used a couple of the square vellum doilies and decorated them with gold faceted gems, clear crystal gems and I coloured a few red to add some contrast.

This one is made using an embossing folder to create texture and then I embellished it with some red and gold.

This one is made using the copper foil cardstock and a bit of punching and sticking

This last one is more traditional in red and gold with some embossing powder thrown in for effect.

These little tiny boxes are perfect to slip some money inside and hang from the tree and they can be used year after year.

I hope you are enjoying the teasing items from the new catalogue and I promise I will be back soon with something from the current catalogue.

Until then

Christmas in July

I have had so much fun creating this cup holder set and couldn’t wait to share it with you. It is one of the new suites in the upcoming Autum/Winter catalogue which goes live on August 4th. If you would like a copy of the catalogue please drop me an email and I will send you one out.

The cups are a really good size and I plan to put little packets of hot chocolate/cocoa and marshmallows in them for gifts. I will also make chocolate spoons to go with them.

The cups are very quick and easy to decorate with everything that comes in the suite and you will love creating some of your own.

This is the back of the carrier and of course, there’s some glitter on there 🙂 What do you think? Can you imagine what you will do with them? I will make a video showing you how to create these and I’ll be back with it soon.

Until then

A video (or two)

So today I tried recording my first ever video! Blimey what a faff 🙂 I thought I had my phone on do not disturb but then it rang so I had to end the video and start a second one. However, I eventually managed to do it (with the help of my teenage daughter). I hope it’s ok. There’s no fancy editing or anything, just me showing you some of the gorgeous new supplies that will be available from August.

And here’s video 2 after I had managed to put the do not disturb function on properly.

Please let me know what you think, it’s quite a daunting thing to do and I now realise how much time and effort all the amazing people I follow on YouTube put into creating their amazing videos. I’m now off to learn how to edit videos properly and I may record some more once I’ve had a nice cup of tea and calmed my nerves.

Until then

A Little Give Back

Just a quickie post as a large brown box has just arrived for me filled with goodies from the Autumn Winter catalogue that goes live in August. I am trying to pluck up the courage to do my first ever video with me unpacking the box and showing you some of the amazing products that you can buy from August 4th including all our wonderful Christmas items for 2020.

In the meantime I wanted to share the above amazing offer with you. For every £45 you spend in July, Stampin Up will email you a voucher with £4.50 to spend in August. So if you spend £90 to will get vouchers worth £9.00. This is an amazing deal because believe me, when you see the new Christmas goodies you will want to buy it all so the vouchers will be a big help!

I promise I’ll try and upload a video, if I do, please be gentle with me

Until then

A like and An “I’m not sure”

So I have set my team a challenge this week to create some 3D projects and I follow an extremely talented lady on You Tube called Ronda Wade where she has created these beautiful box frames. I got out the Forever Greenery suite items and created this frame which I love.

I then decided to create something a little Christmassy (well you can never be too early, can you?) and I’m really not sure if I like it

I’m not sure what it is that I don’t like but I think it’s the gold.

It’s still a box frame with a shaker globe in the middle and it is starting to grow on me but I’m not in love with it just yet. What do you think?

Today I got an extra special treat as my youngest daughter is training to become a commercial pilot. She’s only 18 and got her PPL the day before lockdown so she hasn’t been able to fly during all that beautiful weather but today she was able to fly again and I got to go up with her – it was absolutely amazing! I am so proud of her.

I loved every minute of it and can’t wait until she lets me fly with her again.

Well, I’m off back down to the crafting house to play with some more goodies, they’re from the new Autum/Winter catalogue which will go live in August but as a demonstrator I get to play with the goodies first.

I will be back soon to show you what I’ve made. Until then

Birthday Boy

So my beautiful grandson Jasper will be two next week so I wanted to make his a special card. I have, once again, turned to the Whale of a Time suite to create the fun background and the lovely whales. It was super easy to make it even more special by adding his name with the Playful alphabet dies.

I’ve not been in my craft room as much as I would like recently as my father in law has been in hospital and we are preparing for him coming home. I also have a bit of a dog habit and our new rescue puppy Mackeson has been finding his feet in the pack.

He really would like to share the bed with Boddington the German Shepherd but Boddington Says no. He does have his own bed to be fair but its always more fun to share.

I shall hopefully be back again soon and until then,

Dads Birthday Card

So it was my father in laws birthday yesterday, unfortunately he has been in hospital for the last couple of weeks so we haven’t been able to see him apart from some dodgy facetime attempts. We are hoping that he is well enough to come home later this week so fingers crossed.

I have been so excited to use the Forever Greenery suite as it feels like it could have been designed for me! Green is my favourite colour and all the gorgeous accessories that come with it are just lovely. Even better, my father in law was a keen gardener so it was perfect to create a card for him.

The Gold laser cut speciality paper that comes with the suite is just stunning and I couldn’t create the card without putting one on. There are lots in the pack and you can always use the white side if you don’t want the gold.

Well I am now off to tidy the house before my student nurse returns for a couple of days off from the wards. I’ve ordered all her favourite foods so I can totally spoil her for the next 3 days.

As always, everything I have used in this card are available by clicking the link below.

Hand Drawn Blooms

Sometimes when I see a bundle that I know I just “have to have” I like to try and think of different ways I can use them that are a bit “outside the box”. I decided that I would make a stencil from the die and use that to create something a bit different.

For this card I blended a background using two new ink colours and the splattered some white pain over the top. I then removed my stencil. I white embossed one of the sentiments onto black cardstock and cut it out. I attached it using dimensional.

with this card I kept the background colour to the beautiful misty moonlight blue and then splattered some plain water to react with the ink. I then white embossed the sentiment onto the bumblebee cardstock and again attached with dimensionals.

I will be back soon with a more traditional way of using the bundle but I just wanted to show how versatile Stampin up products can be. I would love to hear what you think if you have time.

Until next time

Whale of a Time

So I set my team a sketch challenge and these are my 3 cards. When I first saw this suite in the new catalogue I instantly fell in love with it. I am a diver at heart and have been extremely privileged to be able to dive at some of the top diving sites in the world with Sipadan and the Philippines being amongst my favourites. I have seen whales from a distance but have swam with turtles and they are so beautiful.

I have used the gorgeous designer paper from the suite to create this card along with the new in colour cardstock and ink pads. I love the way the turtle in the middle at the top is looking at me.

This card again uses the designer series paper and the punch to punch out the whale. I used vellum as a base for the whale and the sentiment. I added clear glue to the whale to add dimension.

This card uses the embossing folder and it really is a stunning folder. I have added a bit of wink of Stella glitter to the fishes.

I hope you have been inspired to have a go at creating your own masterpieces with this suite and I have attached the details below to make it easier for you to find everything.

Until next time

Ornate Garden

This a something different for me as I have left my comfort zone in regards of colour combinations but I’m hoping it’s worked. I wanted to create 3 cards using the dies in this beautiful suite and I feel as though I could have created a thousand. The suite makes card making a breeze.

I decided to use the beautiful birds stamp to add a bit of interest to this card. The border at the bottom is quickly cut using the dies and I added a pearl to each flower centre to give it a bit of dimension.

I used the embossing folder to add some texture to this card and then cut out the borders using the dies, I gold embossed the Thank you and then added some pearls.

A bit more embossing in copper this time and some more pearls on the flower centres. These cards, once I had designed them, were really quick to put together. Why not have a try. I have linked to the products below and you can find them using the Shop Now button.

Until next time
